2026 KP Youth Field Hockey Fall Commonwealth League - Grades 1 & 2 All KP Towns, all skills welcome!Teams: Grades 1/2, 3/4, 5/6 & 7/8 FALL 2026 Games on Saturdays 8/29 - 10/24 With Patricia Zini, Field Hockey CoordinatorJoin KP Youth Field Hockey as we participate in our 17th season in the Commonwealth Field Hockey League. Our program is designed for girls in the tri-town area to develop fundamental field hockey skills and knowledge while fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and love of the game. Become a part of the growing KP Youth Field Hockey community and play in a supportive, yet competitive environment. The season consists of 1-2 practices per week and 8 Saturday games. Participating in this league provides the amazing opportunity for girls to compete with girls in similar youth programs in surrounding towns. Games held at KP High School or Forekicks and practices will be at Freeman Kennedy School in Norfolk. Practices will be on Mondays and Wednesdays for 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8 teams. Children and parents also get the opportunity to share those first unforgettable, goal scoring moments! Children will be encouraged to move from parent-supported participation to active, independent play. The season will consist of 8 games (including playoffs) which will be determined based upon the number of teams in each division, all play will finish by November 7th at the latest (most teams will finish on 10/31 but division super bowls will be played at night under the lights the week of 11/1). Children will learn about teamwork and fair play while having fun developing running and passing skills all through the great game of football! The kids will be placed on teams in three divisions based upon the grade their grade in the fall, K/1, 2/3, 4/5, 6-8.Games will be played weekly, mostly on Saturday mornings with the possibility of weekday night games starting September 12th. The season will consist of 8 games (including playoffs) which will be determined based upon the number of teams in each division, all play will finish by November 7th at the latest (most teams will finish on 10/31 but division super bowls will be played at night under the lights the week of 11/1). Teams will be formed through a draft in August. The schedule will include at least one practice (determined by team consensus) and one/two games each week. We’ll focus on goal setting, character development, speed, agility, technique, and endurance. Over the course of the season, we will gradually increase our mileage, culminating in a 5K event. Our program is designed for girls in the tri-town area to develop fundamental field hockey skills and knowledge while fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and love of the game. Become a part of the growing KP Youth Field Hockey community and play in a supportive, yet competitive environment. The season consists of 1-2 practices per week and 8 Saturday games. Participating in this league provides the amazing opportunity for girls to compete with girls in similar youth programs in surrounding towns. Games held at KP High School or Forekicks and practices will be at Freeman Kennedy School in Norfolk. Practices will be on Mondays and Wednesdays for 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8 teams. Grades 1/2 practice on Wednesday only.KP Youth Field Hockey players who participate in the Fall 2026 season will receive 25% off all Norfolk Recreation field hockey clinics during the 2026-2027 school year.REGISTRATION CLOSES July 1st!Registration Fee: $50, includes uniform rental and practice t-shirt. Kickin' with Parents!9:00 - 9:45 AMAges 2 - 3 with a ParentJoin us as we play fun soccer games that enhance balance, coordination and gross motor skills. We will focus on soccer basics including striking a stationary ball and moving balls during directional play. Children and parents also get the opportunity to share those first unforgettable, goal scoring moments! Children will be encouraged to move from parent-supported participation to active, independent play. Little Kickers!10:00 - 10:45 AMAges 3 - 4 yearsBall skills, playing cooperatively and building confidence are the focus of this program. Basic ball mastery and directional play is encouraged through fun and engaging games such as Sharks and Minnows and Busy Bee. We’ll have fun while learning important soccer skills! Dribble, Kick, Pass!11:00 - 11:45 AMAges 4 - 5 yearsThis Saturday soccer program will focus on skill development such as dribbling, passing, shooting, trapping and shielding. Children will learn to play in a group setting and grasp the importance of cooperation and sharing with their fellow players. Soccer games such as Red Light, Green Light and Monster Invasion will keep the program fun while allowing for development and reinforcement of newly learned skills.
